Audubon Nature Odysseys is partnering with Victor Emanuel Nature Tours to provide a special itinerary for Audubon members: Birding Across America by Train. From New York’s Adirondack Mountains to the prairies of North Dakota, to Washington’s Olympic Peninsula, this 14-day journey is without a doubt, one of the most remarkable birding adventures we will have ever offered. Tufted Saxifrage is a small perennial that grow in thick mats on the tundra. This photo was taken by Dave Milsom at L’Anse Amour just a few days ago, during our Newfoundland and Labrador trip. “Saxifraga” is the Latin word for “rock breaker”.
Today we offer another fantastic photo by Dave Milsom, taken during Audubon Nature Odyssey’s Newfoundland and Labrador trip. This bald eagle was photographed at Newman Sound in Terra Nova National Park.
Audubon Nature Odysseys is currently on an expedition to Newfoundland and Labrador. Just the other day we visited Witless Bay, which is famous for its spectacular birding and whale watching. While there, our expedition leader Dave Milsom photographed this adorable pair: a Great Black-backed Gull and chick. Stay tuned for more photos from this wonderful province.
